‘The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe’ is a fantasy-themed theatrical experience that promises to captivate audiences with its large puppets, epic fight scenes and a soundscape sure to inspire.
Featuring a cast of 20, including puppets, this production directed by Jason Triggs, is set to leave audiences with a sense of awe and wonder. Cast includes Alison Jones as the White Witch, Adrian Quintarelli as The Professor, David Murray as Aslan, James Anderson as Mr. Tumnus, James Banger as Mr. Beaver, and Georgina Topp as Mrs. Beaver.
Set in the 1940’s during WWII, Peter, Susan, Edmund,and Lucy, evacuate their home in London during the Blitz to a professors' home in the countryside. Stumbling across a wardrobe in a spare room, the four siblings find their way through the wardrobe to the land of Narnia. They meet talking animals and mythical creatures, including Mr. Tumnus, the beavers, and the great lion Aslan.
Adapted for the stage by Glyn Robbins, The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe from the children’s classic of the same name by C.S. Lewis explores the themes of family, temptation, betrayal, forgiveness, courage and good versus evil.
Jason Triggs
Jason is no stranger to the theatre, having appeared on stage with Eltham Little Theatre in Look Back in Anger, plus working with Brighton in Blood Brothers, Mount Players with Buried Child, Lilydale Athenaeum with The Freedom of the City and The History Boys, The Basin with The Sum of Us, Nova Theatre with Fiddler on the Roof (1997), Oliver (1999) and Mame (2001), and ARK Theatre with their recent one act play ‘Point Blank’. As playwright; Forbidden, Kidnapped Identity, and Jack’s Story. In 2021 and 2022 Jason ran two puppetry schools in Shepparton and Seymour with great success. Since 2022 Jason has been touring his puppetry show, ‘There’s a Dinosaur in my Garden Shed’ around Victoria to Avenel, The Basin, Brunswick, Bunyip, Chiltern, Cowes, Lancefield, Macedon, Moe, Montrose, Mooroopna, Murchison, Nathalia, Rushworth, Wonthaggi, and Yarra Glen.
Nathaniel Calleja
Nathaniel Calleja is thrilled to take on the role of Edmund in this production, relishing the transformation from a greedy, nasty boy to a brave, loyal, and kind brother.
He has an extensive background in musical theatre, having performed in productions such as Into the Woods Jnr as Cinderella’s Prince, Rock of Ages Teen Edition as Franz, Freaky Friday as Fletcher, and Peter Pan - A Musical Adventure as John Darling. Through these roles, Nathaniel has gained invaluable experience on stage. His passion for acting also extends to film and television, and he’s excited to walk the red carpet at the world premiere of The Tales of Cantara Cabin in December.
Over the past few years, Nathaniel has been training with American Arts Film & Television Academy and Mount Youth Theatre, while also taking voice lessons from Steven Zammit, former star of Young Talent Time.
Her previous creative credits include In Transit - Director (Lyrebird/Guild nomination), Choreographer, Set Design(Lyrebird/Guild nomination), Costume Designer (Lightbox Productions), Places: A Dream Role Cabaret - Writer, Director, Choreographer (Lightbox Productions).
